For those who loved the novel series of Shopaholic, it is a fresh movie! Adapted from the same novel series by Sophie Kinsella, directed by P.J Hogan and stars Isla Fisher as Rebecca Bloomwood, the movie is hilarious and fun to be watched.

All she ever wanted was a little credit...

Rebecca Bloomwood had her shopping addiction nurtured as she lives at Manhattan, she spent $1,000 a month and not stopping although she knew that she is not afford to pay her credit cards.

She planned to join Alette, a fashion magazine where she think that she is more suitable to work there instead for a gardening magazine. She missed the interview for Alette, but she had the opportunity to join the media group through an interview in Successful Saving as a financial columnist. For the interview, she had insist to buy a fashionable green scarf when she didn’t have enough money and had to borrowed it from a man on the hot dog corner who eventually the editor of Successful Saving.

Frustrated with her interview failure, she got drunk with her best friend and wrote letters to both editor, Alette and Successful Saving. The letters mistakenly sent to wrong recipients, where Successful Saving hired her.

Rebecca Bloomwood wrote her article based on her true experience, on how she loved the touch of a fabric and ended purchasing things, not to mention her perspective of debt on credit card. The article was impressive! She becomes famous.

Until she was invited as a speaker at a national TV talk show, and the city debt collector was there too. She is later being publicly accused of not paying her debts and also loses her job.

Rebecca then decided to pay her debts by selling all of her clothes, includes the green scarf. The sale got a huge success, and she is able to repay her debts. Rebecca ends up working for Luke, the editor for Successful Saving previously, and writes articles such as “Confessions of a Shopaholic”.

Keep your eyes open for Valentino, Anna Sui, Catherine Malandrino and Alberta Ferretti. The movie soundtracks were brought by today’s singers such as Lady Gaga, Kat De Luna or Pussy Cat Dolls.

A new job? Hopefully. A new man? Possibly. A new handbag? Absolutely!
