A creative fashion outlook has led Sally Koeswanto to be a national style icon. Koeswanto is on the cutting edge of Indonesian fashion, introducing unique and expressive elements into the national fashion industry. Her clothes worn regularly by the fashion conscious and influential, impressing the Indonesian fashion industry with her unique, daring and exotic design.
Koeswanto graduated from prestigious Whitehouse School of Design in Sydney in 1994 and while studying had the honour of representing Australia in the Smirnoff Fashion Awards. She was also a finalist in the Australian Cotton Foundation Awards.
Upon returning to Indonesia in 1995, Koeswanto opened her own fashion business in made-to-order clothing. In the same year Koeswanto was announced a finalist of Lomba Perancang Mode, and a finalist of the fashion design competition held that year by Femina and Gadis Magazine.
Koeswanto has since opened her own boutique in Taman Anggrek Mal and studio in Darmawangsa Square. She has held 3 solo fashion shows since 2002, been voted one of 12 inspiring people by Nokia 7600 (2004), and been elected as a member of (IPMI) Ikatan Perancang Mode Indonesia (2002), as well as participating in various fashion shows and creating diverse fashion collections from clothes to bags.
Sally Koeswanto embodies the expressions flair for fashion, and her enthusiasm and passion for fashion, continue to enhance her reputation and consequently her thriving career.
