I believe that the provision of health services is a basic human right and that medicine can improve people’s health and therefore the quality of their lives. For this reason, I decided to take pharmacy as the area of my study at the masters level.
After obtaining Master of Pharmacy (clinical pharmacy by research), I had a great opportunity to join the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). I am now working on a Medical Supply Management Program to effectively provide all stakeholders involved in our projects with professional technical advice to achieve effective and efficient activity outputs and overall improved Medical Supplies Management (MSM) systems.
The experiences and knowledge I gained from my study in Australia are extremely helpful for my work. I did not only learn how to dispense pharmaceutical products but also to manage and improve medical supply systems effectively. I also learnt how to communicate efficiently with patients or people from different backgrounds and cultures. For me, studying was more than learning the latest knowledge about pharmaceutical science; it was a three dimensional experience, which was totally awesome! I saw things I never dreamt I would see. I met people I would not have known if I had just stayed where I was. I definitely would not change that for the world.
