The University of Queensland “UQ Indonesia Alumni Awards” are now open for applications for 2011.
Awards of up to AU$8000 are available to cover associated travel and living costs for UQ Indonesian Alumni, currently employed or studying in a research higher degree program at UQ partner universities in Indonesia.
The award provides an opportunity for UQ alumni to reconnect with the University of Queensland through meaningful collaborative research activity.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a UQ Indonesia Alumni Award applicants must be;
- an alumnus of The University of Queensland and have graduated from a University of Queensland Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree.
- an academic staff member OR are currently enrolled in a PhD at one of UQ's Indonesian partner research intensive universities including;
- University of Indonesia
- Universitas Gadjah Mada
- Universitas Diponegoro
- Other universities and research institutions will be considered dependant on availability of awards and the level of the UQ - Indonesian University partner relationship
- currently engaged in, or intending to engage in a collaborative research project or significant collaboration, with a UQ faculty, school, academic member of staff or UQ research group.
- able to demonstrate their collaboration is currently or would be constrained by a lack of financial resources.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Applicants will need to download and complete a short expression of interest form (EOI) available from: UQIAA-EOI Form
- A completed EOI and any attachments should be sent to UQ International by Email to: d.wise@uq.edu.au

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applications MUST be received by: 31 October 2010
(NOTE: It is expected that awardees will complete their nominated activity during 2011.)
SELECTION PROCESS
Awardees will selected by selection committee comprised of representatives from UQ International, The UQ Graduate School and The UQ Advancement Office. Projects will be assessed on;
- The availability of academic staff at UQ to engage in the collaborative research project or significant collaboration
- The scope of the scholarship to foster ongoing collaboration between The University of Queensland and the Indonesian Partner institution
ANNOUNCEMENT
Successful candidates will be announced by the 29 November 2010.
